Very good food! I ordered a 4 items combo with a soup, they're all delicious and deserve this price! Thanks for giving me a satisfied lunch!

I'm not an Asian food aficionado so take my review with a grain of salt. I checked it out at the advice of a Chinese friend who I hold in high regard as I was picking up items at the Hong Kong market next door anyhow.
I hadn't planned to eat but when I saw the buffet filled with many vegetarian items, I decided to have lunch. You can order 3 or 4 items with or without rice for a set price. It was served in a to go container and the lady told me to go sit in the back where the restaurant patrons dine. As I walked by the filled tables, I can attest that the dishes served looked excellent. I also saw dessert trays and carts with fresh treats looking appetizing. Had I not just filled my face with moon pastries prior, I'd have ordered some dessert too.
My four item vegetarian dish fit the bill and I was definitely satiated and didn't get bloated, with leftovers to make another meal entirely. I'd keep this place as an option for sure if in the neighborhood and craving Chinese food. There's another restaurant a couple doors down that looks promising too. This block is good for an Asian supply run, acupuncture/massage and some nourishment. -

This is the best dim sum restaurant in CT! The portions are huge. The food quality is very good and the food comes out piping hot. For dim sim aficionados, you know how hard it is to keep food served hot and fresh when it is not packed to the brim with people. The biggest drawback comes when you get the bill. 5.95 for a medium dish is on the pricey side. For big parties it probably works out, but for just one or two you won't be able to have any variety without breaking the piggy bank.

It's the only dim sum place I know of in CT (New Haven). We got there about 11am on Sunday, only one other table that was seated. We had 7 dishes and hot tea, it was about $45. It's so so, I kinda think it's on the pricey side, but the food was good. The only thing that turned my off was the food on the last bottom shelf of the food cart. To me, I think of all the dust or dirt that could be kick up onto the food. It's not covered so as they pushed the cart anything could land on it.
It did get busy after noon. Street parking, friendly staff. -

Dim sum review: 3.5/5 (no half stars, so it manages to get a 4 star rating out of me).
I've tried dim sum in LA, NY, and Hong Kong. I came with no expectations, but I was surprisingly impressed overall. It wasn't the best dim sum I've ever had but this place was even better than some places I've tried in NY Chinatown and comparable to others in LA. So why travel farther when a decent dim sum spot is nearby?
For 3 people, we ordered 12 plates and it came to about ~$70. They have a decent selection menu and it's all in English which is great for friends who have never tried it (or, you know they could point at what they want...). Likewise, the staff speak pretty good English and were able to answer any questions we had regarding dietary restrictions.
That being said, certain dishes are definitely better than others. We tried pork siu mai, seafood siu mai, steamed pork ribs, chicken feet, tripe, sticky rice, har gow, har cheung, sweet tofu, bean curd roll, beef ball, and soy milk.
Try: pork siu mai, seafood siu mai, chicken feet, har gow, har cheung
Maybe: tripe, bean curd roll, soy milk
Skip: steamed pork ribs, sticky rice, sweet tofu, beef ball
I read other reviews about the steamed pork ribs being bland, but my problem was actually the toughness of the meat. Usually, the meat is supposed to be soft, instead it was really hard to chew. The sticky rice needs better filling. The sweet tofu was not sweet enough, since they pour the syrup beforehand, it was literally just eating tofu at some point. The beef ball.... is definitely not for everyone.
I haven't had a chance to try their other options like their hot pot or take out buffet, but I'd definitely try it when I get the chance.
